i feel like we barely made it out of town.  we waited patiently for the prof e is ta-ing with to call us and say her plane from dc had landed in spokane - that was our cue to leave. (had there been any issues with her return e would have had to protor the final exam friday night.)  so, we made it to boise and there was hardly any snow in the mountains.  remarkable.  dropped of budro, chopped off my hair good-n-short-n-choppy, watched the final bsg before hiatus, and we were off to vegas, baby.

we hit snow on the way to vegas. that sucked.  about 50 miles outside of lv we could finally see the glow of its sin and depravity above the hills. ah, vegas. our extra-cheap room at the stratosphere was magically comped for us. we walked almost the entire length of the strip so that e could see some of the fanciness.  i still love the glass flower ceiling in the bellagio lobby - pretty pretty.  it was cold.  people were still everywhere at 1:30 in the morning. basically we drank and judged people during our short time there.  apparently leggings are the new denim. although i know i also saw denim leggings.

so far these adventures are fairly fucking lame.  sorry.

we hit traffic on the way to escondido. this is my 1st time in southern california. i think i made the right decision to not matriculate at san diego state. we arrived as the sun was setting, so we really needed the "campsite" e had found on his last visit to still be available. if someone had decided to build a mc-mansion on it, we would have been screwed since it was dark.  all was okay, and we not only found the location still abandoned/not-yet-built-on, but we also managed to put up the tent with barely any daylight left and in windchill temperatures.

yesterday i went with e to observe/record/research the bonobos. it was still cold. it was pretty amazing though. and it was good to have a taste of the work that he has been doing. after 5-ish hours of hanging out at the bonobo habitat, we tested our ability to handle mass groups of people by hiking around the park. we didn't last long, but we went to target afterwards anyway.

today we are hanging downtown where the free wireless internet is. all of the bonobos would not be out today, so e is finishing up some more phd apps. i am updating the world with my tales of heres and theres.

the 10 commandments are next to the register here, but my chair is mighty comfortable.

i am tired of being so busy.  i am pleased that i get alllllll of next week off.  i plan to watch so notorious in its entirety and finally put tunes on my mamabear ipod.  and update my myspace. and sleep in.

oh, and i really hate our college republicans.  they will be on hannity & colmes tomorrow continuing to fuel all the attention they can off of their strategically offensive wall/fence that they put on campus (3 weeks ago) that people predictably became upset over.  their charade of spin is wearing thin.

fortunately, rhyming makes everything better.

well, i am that boring right now.

actually, i do have a lot going on - work is actually worky again, which can be categorized somewhere between "good to be busy" and "pain in my ass" - as an attitude toward a job should be.  i am also squeezing in planning a progressive conference.  with the help of others.  e decided that a starting a progressive student group to go along with his film series wouldn't be such a bad idea, and i made him do it so that i could plan a conference :)  i, of course, as a non-student (who takes a class, but...) am not an official part of the group, but i have leadery tendancies and an advisor-y role.  but we have many friendly souls from the young dems that want to also do our fave protesty stuff - culture jamming, silent vigils (photos to come), and then there is the conference planning.  tomorrow the college republicans will be erecting a wall in our mall area on campus to distract attention away from their scandalous candidates and issues like the war.  protesting will be done :)  as a non-student, i can't really participate.  sad for me.

at least i have battlestar.  i wonder when starbuck will get rid of those extensions...

no me gusta mi tarea de espanol.

my stupid classmates (los estudiantes tonto) voted for an alternative assignment not-so-cleverly disguised as extra work. i hate them.

you may feel teeny-tiny amounts of pity for me now.

wow. cinnamon toast crunch sure ain't the same since they took 75% of the sugar out of it...

on the upside, my battlestar galactical widget is telling me that there are only 15 more hours until the premier! although it is wrong, both because scifi upped its airtime to 9, and i am sure it is calculating for est, it still means that today is the day. and having (small) things to look forward to ain't, well, bad.
